57406, Legacy Question
Posted by Questioner on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I was curious about the "Greeting the Avalanche" legacy. I know from the help file that this skill does nothing against skills like control phase, wraithform and such. What about skills that reduce the the lag of a bash, trip or other skills?
Does this legacy still hold any benefit or do these skills essentially nullify the benefit of taking the legacy making it pretty much only viable for mainly other melee classes or unprepped magi?
On that note if this legacy would not work the way I had in mind does anybody have any opinions on other good legacies for the lower dex, int, wis races?

Its not fair to say that this legacy does nothing against those bash-prevention methods. One of the big perks of it is that it allows you to avoid the lag associated with an attempted and failed bash against those methods. It offers a message like "You see X is protected from your bash and abort the manuever." and then it just gives you pulse lag instead of the lag for bashing. So it lets you sneak in some bash attempts to see if someone had lost protective shield etc on a tick without much downside.
Another big perk of greeting is that you can sometimes (although fairly rare) counter the bash of someone who attempts to bash you. But in most instances, this legacy really shines against people who do not have class inherent bash avoidance. I had a lot of fun with it as Puhguly and I can only imagine it would work even better with a giant than it did with a dwarf.
