Last night I received random IMMxp as a result from PK snoopage. While my knee-jerk reaction was anger at the 'perceived' nerf to edges, I was wrong to rattle my saber without giving you guys a proper chance.

I was wrong, and I apologize. Thank you guys for your increased involvement in the game particularly in the realm of interacting with players (including those not directly seeking interaction e.g. me).

I don't like to eat crow, but this is a topic I am happy to eat it on.

I compared the use of manual XP adjustments (not including role-related rewards, but manually culled for botched command attempts) for the last two months to the equivalent dates last year (10/6/13 to 12/5/13 vs. 10/6/14 to 12/5/14), and almost twice as many rewards (74% increase) went out in 2014.

This isn't accidental-- one outcome of the background analysis behind our recent decisions was that staff members were shocked at the imbalance between role rewards (*) vs. rewards for 'live' RP. It has been part of our decision process to try to shift that emphasis, and we've been pushing for more 'live' RP for at least a couple months.

(*): These are still going out at roughly the same pace, but are now less significant in terms of Edges. You still get free XP, etc. for good role entries.

I haven't had one yet, but if I recall it's been said role exp given will still include the possible skill gains that were given before, yes? Awesome if so.

I've been RPing more than ever and nothing's come from it. Not that that's going to stop me RPing.

Personally I think all these changes hit a certain type of character harder than others, specifically the Imperial Antipaladin, but I'm not playing one now.

Did someone apologize on an internet forum? I think I've seen everything now ;) Either way, that is really decent of you to do*. Community opinions mean a great deal to us, and (generally speaking, provided not a knee-jerk) serve as a barometer of performance.

Genuine constructive criticism is a healthy thing, so if you do feel there is something which does irk you as a player, let us know. Depending on the overall consensus, the size and scope of the issue, and what resources are on hand, it might not be tackled immediately if identified as a problem. However, the posts always get read.

*Having said that, I still maintain it is a little too early to call the net gain/loss from this change. Though I will say I have tremendous confidence in the people who designed it and weighed in. I personally have faith it will work as intended, which would be for the betterment of most players I believe.

I will second the apology and say there are a number of us that play this game that think the imms are awesome and appreciate most of the changes.

Your support will mean a lot to the staff. No need to apologize though, everyone makes unduly quick judgments now and again.

Of course, I suck, so tweaking of the gameplay has never really impacted me too much.
