55956, New Class Idea - Blacksmith/Warrior Option in place of Legacies?

So I am was thinking of something that may be missing in the variety of classes CF offer. What about a class that can manipulate objects? A support class that sharpen swords, add effects to items and weapons and strengthen armor. Even to the point of designing armor from raw materials. I'm thinking possibly warriors can take this on in place of legacies as an option.

What do you think?

Thanks,

I think we have blueprints (in theory) for something else that would handle metalcraft/armor/weapons work.
55960, A novel idea but....

If I'm not missing the grasp of the scope of the proposed class other than being able to actually create the armor itself isn't that the basic description of the proposed "Enchanter" class that's been rumored to be floating about for the last good little while?

I've played another mud long ago (I stick to CF now, screw those other imitators!)

But there was a Runecrafter class that could draw out runes on weapons to enable them to do different things, like I think the vorpal rune made weapons sharper and electricity was like a long lasting charge weapon rune. They could strength armor too, but it has been so long I cannot exactly remember the fashion in which they did it.

It's a sound idea, but I think that would detach from playing a warrior. It would probably have to be class on its own, maybe something like a seasonal class for duergar and dwarves perhaps?
55957, No new stuff for warriors allowed :(
