54651, I thought there was a post about this somewhere, Swimto...

I'm not typically one to complain but I feel that as limited as this skill is, in area of use, can we not have the skill be useless in pk, to chase when hit with less than 3 or 4 maladies? As I've noticed so far, as soon as I get hit with an attack that lowers str or dex (artery, impale, etc), then swimto now has enough lag that the intended target can walk away 99% of the time. The only time I've found that this isn't true is if the target hits the wrong direction multiple times or pauses to cast or call, etc. I can kinda understand that this could be annoying with the flyto skill because you can fly to someone over the majority of the world but swimto is very narrow. As it stands now, if you swimto a person that fled, they have time to move and attack you before you can them or move again toward escape. If this skill wasn't intended to be used in pk, then I can understand the change but as it is now, it and flyto, can only be used to chase someone like a thirsting villager. I'd rather see a slight boost to attack duration lag on the opening attack rather than not being able to attack. I feel this wouldn't be as crippling to these skills.

54652, You are allowed to gear for str/dex.

Which, for many shapeshifters, is a good idea these days.

I have +13 of each(typically). I still suffer lag that allows my enemies to escape, even though my form max is unhindered.
I also apologize if I'm coming off rude or if this wasn't a recent change. I don't typically play water as a shifter.

54681, My bet is the shapeshifter changes aren't "fixed" yet

From Code Changes board: "Shapeshifters in form use a hybrid of their shifted and unshifted strength scores to determine whether or not they suffer penalties for being overburdened. This may be further tweaked depending on how it works in play."
What may be happening is while your form stats are unaffected by maledicts, the code check for your race's stats using the above recent change may be interfering with the code check for maledicted movement lag (another recent change).
This seems like a messy one and gimped my shifter a bit, so I suggest you keep documenting these things so that they can get fixed.

These changes aren't relevant to swimto.
