Beside the crown, can there be another glowing item? As a new character, I had a hard time using a shield and and a lantern. Was hoping that at least the ivory ring or bracer can be glowing. Help the new characters to move along and also wear a shield.

There are rings that you can usually find laying on the ground somewhere. You can't get them yourself, but you're pretty likely to find one if you take a look around. There's also a neckwear option in another one of the newbie areas that you can get yourself at, I think, any rank regardless of alignment.
