53119, Fist of Titans Question
Posted by TJHuron on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I asked about Fist back in 2010 and wonder if any changes have been made to it since then?

In that thread Daevryn said he was going to consider changing it so the opponent did not get an echo when fist worked.

Also in this thread, Valg seemed to hint at making this legacy more wis dependent.

Is the success rate of this legacy the same? If I am looking for a pure, inherent anti-disarm mechanism is it worth taking?

Does it work on offhand disarm/offhand grapple?

I had a character until age death in 2012 that had Fist.
I reviewed it on the death thread.

There were no major changes to my knowledge as of 2012.
Fist only has a chance of succeeding, and it is NOT close to 100% for 23 strength.

A nodisarm weapon is vastly superior to Fist. Any giant sword spec with Crashing will almost certainly disarm, and can often offhand disarm, you if the fight lasts past a round or two.

However, the utility of being able to use certain spec skills if you have a weapon of 13 lbs or less can be niche useful, eg cranial with a lightweight mace, if you can't cover enough str and saves.

As far as I can recall, it works for both hands and does work with all normal forms of disarm. It does seem to work very well, not perfect but still very well, from my experience with it. I also believe the echo that it gives is the same as when an enemy is using a cursed or nodisarm weapon, rather than the attempt simply flailing. With more people picking classes like shamans and dagger, mace, spear, etc.. I'd say also being able to use heavier weapons when hindered would be a nice touch also.
