Just a thought...

Why not have empowerment be like empire? Meaning you get basic empowerment after a certain amount of time has been put in (maybe 150 hours?) and make it hard to keep it instead of hard to get it?

Less griping by players (also likely more people would pick empowerment characters) less work for the Imms who could use inter-imm communication to determine if a particular char should be de-empowered.

No real dog in this just a thought, I have only ever played one actual empowerment character in my entire time in CF but have tried a few short-lived ones that were short-lived because I hate praying for hours and hours to no effect. Makes sense in a 'cf-character;' way but in RL I feel real stupid and partly a pest after about my tenth prayer.

I love empowerment.

I don't know if I like this idea. Sometimes we withhold empowerment for a reason. Sometimes people are going through RP challenges with their imm where they aren't empowered for a reason.

Now, you might be able to talk me into lowering the ability to offline empower from 58 to something like 54 or even 53. That argument I could probably buy pretty well.

As an aside...maybe its just me but 150 hrs isnt that long to me, but then again I always try an age-die my chars and usually end up con-dying :P

Are you suggesting that we get rid of empowerment as-is and automate it such that you do not get "basic empowerment" until the spry age of 150 hours?

Despite popular opinion, we don't hate our players nearly that much.

You are empowered to level 20 out of the gate. There is plenty of time to get more compared to when it was capped at 10. Personally, I typically give empowerment in 3 stages. None of them hard to get and once you have one, the next two come pretty much on their own. I think it would suck to have full empowerment for a 150 hour character only to have it reduced because they didn't deserve it.

I think his point was that if you were still unempowered at 150 hours you got it automatically.

I'm not sure it matters, if I'm unempowered at 80 hours I'm deleted and picking a different imm lol.

It would take somebody very special to stick it out for 150 hours before getting empowered. As for waiting 80 hours, that's 30 more than me. :P
