51569, Just to talk about something else, why do Wights rock?

Since the first two, it doesn't even look like someone has tried to become one. Is that a product of the vulns being easy to exploit while the advantages are a bit more subtle or something else?

Are there advantages to being a wight over a mummy?

Do their Savage nature rule out wight as an option for an Imperial Necromancer (know I have seen players say this, but not sure if I saw Imm confirmation)?

All the vulns, and most of the bonuses of being undead, but I don't think they get a HP bonus at all. So if you want to be an undead with like 600-700 natural hp at hero (painful as hell I would imagine, I barely survived some fights with my lich at 2800 hp with despoil) then this is your path.

I could probably be convinced to modify the Wight's HP.

I think wight is really cool. Maybe half the bonus of HP to what liches and mummies get? If they're anything but scion with despoil, they're going to have a really, really hard time with just the standard HP. Were talking like 1000 hpish with the best high end armor tops, and those vulns really really hurt.

I think if they got just that bump to their health, and nothing else, it would make them a very viable role to play. Just short of mummies, but significantly more powerful than sitting at spectre.

I never played one, but seeing the log of the one with the low HP seemed like a lot of punishment to eat once they become. The sleep/poison/disease immunity of undead is nice, but eating those extra vulns makes fortress unbearable at that point.

Just my suggestion from a guy that's had a lich and mummy both, the HP bonus is what really makes the undead part of it manageable. Even if its a lesser bonus, it would really, really make the Wight appeal to not only a guy like me, but likely to anyone a mummy would appeal to.

I don't remember much about the wight, it still seems pretty secrety.

The couple-a brainstormy thoughts I had though, that I'll add to your pile:

I seem to remember (something like) devouring bone temporarily increases max hp?

If that's what's happening - what if it also began stacking very small amounts of dam redux? Or made the wight better at defending against melee - like acting like armor and boosting bone armor use somehow.
