50234, What's the right way to handle a meltdown?

1. Ignore it?
2. Try to RP along? Gets weird when as the meltdownee gets increasingly OOC.

Maybe not RP appropriate, but I think it is the right thing to do.

50264, Pretty much this

If the guy's been a constant ####, or makes a habit out of it, I'll use ignore.
But if his going OOC is a one time thing and he's obviously just having a bad day, I don't mind going OOC myself for a couple minutes to try and cool him down. It's another player behind the character, after all.
I deleted one of my favorite characters, one I was having a ball with, because I ate one too many gangs one night and went on a rant. It ruined the char for me, and I don't mind helping others avoid that, even if it breaks the first CF commandment.

If they're doing rant/ignore, put them on ignore (or just ignore them.)
If there's a shred of RP, run with it, but never drop character. Sometimes you can get them back in line this way.
