50194, Why not add in all those Kaubris spells as random Conjurer options?
Posted by GinGa on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
At a random level between 30-40, you conjure your familiar and they'll drop a book with a Kaubris spell in it (practiced automatically up to 45%). The why and how of it getting there - is a great mystery. Did Kaubris send this from his hideaway? Did another conjurer? Is the familiar doing it them self?
Roleplay and fun ensues. None of the spells were overpowered anyway, and it'd add some flavor to late game conjurers other than familiars.
We could even add some new spells based on Faruq Satampra, Khardrath, Xaelobran the Obscure, and the other conjurers mentioned in Lore. There's plenty of it around! And yes, I do still love the library in Hamsah. It's a shame it hasn't been made into a bigger thing (like the Lyceum) with the ability to search for all kinds of references.

50197, textbooks at 40% off

Since the Kaubris spells are already floating around in-game, I think the current system is probably fine. That said, I'm all for adding more spellbooks to the game. Hopefully we'll see the day when Enchanters are added as well...

50198, Wasn't there a global summon spell?

I've only ever seen the flawless teleport spellbook and haven't even heard of the others ever being used, but if they are out there I guess someone needs to go looking...

50202, maybe

It seems like there may be a disparity between what I think is in-game and what y'all have been able to find. So after we settle in to the new machine I'll have to look through the area files and make sure what I think is out there is really out there.

50204, Can you look at some flags in area's like

50233, I'll be honest...

I've played this game for countless years, and I haven't the slightest idea about what you all are talking about in this thread. Not that that's a bad thing.

50199, You mean it's possible, without immteraction, to get a kaubris spell?
Posted by GinGa on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I've never seen that happen, sadly. The only books I knew about were the limited extra elemental ones.
I once got the safe teleport spell on a throwaway conjurer but that was it.

50203, yes

The volumes you mention above are attributed to another Conjurer, rather than Kaubris. I confess, I'm always interested to see who ends up with those.

50200, maybe add echos to them or tweak them?
Posted by laxman on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I know of one of the books and it was only by accident I noticed it gave me a spell since it had no echos. Of course it was mostly pointless because you had to perfect another spell to use it and if you think about the vast majority of situation using it would be appealing giving up a 100% chance to cast for a 60-70% chance to cast wasn't functionally worth the extra bonus the kaubris spell granted. That and the fact an edge added the bonus to the normal class spell.

50201, Are all the Kaubris spells in game?

Because I only found 2...

50231, When are you implementing the beer elemental?
Posted by laxman on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Should be your #1 priority.
That and the conjure serving wench quest spell. And honey badger quest familiar, in combat it should say, "I don't give a ####" then furor/suicide/come back to life.
