What about having limited items poof upon a pk death so it ceases to be an issue amongst players. As a ghost, I'd still say the guy who just got killed might have the inside track on getting his stuff back, plus he knows what he had. It is an added inconvenience in some cases, but might ease some player tensions.

This sounds like a terrible idea and good way to make people take no risks.

I always thought an alternative method for slowing down looting was to make getting certain types of items from a corpse have lag, i.e. you try to get his breastplate but have to take time unbuckling it from his dead body. This way if you are not far from your corpse they would not be able to take everything as much as a few select items.

Now after getting killed instead of thinking I hate that prick, I leave thinking what a swell guy for leaving my gear, unless they did take something.

Since instead you'd have naked people pissed that they are naked as a result of an uber-gank.

And you don't have the edge getting stuff back if you are solo and they aren't, particularly if they used to look command before you died.

If your character is carrying Dispater's horned staff of iron, I'd much rather kill you and take it than kill you and have to risk life and limb trying to obtain it from Dispater himself.

You know what baal is wielding because there is a badass statue in hell depicting him wielding it. I want it lol.

So dispater rocks a staff eh? I thought it was axes for some reason, now I know everything! Muhahaha


Edited to add, I personally would rather get the hell gear from hell..but I am sure many many people disagree with me there :P
