49210, Flaw: Old Wound - Can someone clear something up about this.
Posted by Old and Wounded on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
The helpfile say:
A character with this flaw has an old wound which will not heal. In the stress of combat it sometimes reopens.
As I understand its a physical bleeding affect that opens up in hard combat. It also seems like it opens up if you have bleeding affects caused by warrior specs.
Without giving too much away and what have you, Is it supposed to have any -str or -dex affects with it?
Does it open for a set amount of time?
Is it something that can keep reopening over and over even if you are sitting/sleeping/resting/standing and not moving, not in combat, and and not doing anything at all?
If it is possible to keep opening over and over, is there anything you can do to keep it from reopening for over an hour IRL?
Anything I can do to save vs. the throw for it to keep opening or any way to heal it?

I can definitely tell it has been tweaked. When fighting a dagger spec, bleeding went up to forty hours, and the wound does tend to open up randomly on bleeds but I can tell now that after a certain amount of time the wound will only do scratches and eventually close. Heal Heal will get your hp back up, but if you have any sort of cabal fighting going on, it pretty much guarantees that you will be fleeing earlier rather than later, and in some instances it has been nearly a death sentence. Before it was tweaked, I spent about two IRL hours bleeding excessively. Now, it is like a bell curve bleeding with an end in sight. Thanks for adjusting it. I wanted to bleed easy, just not forever.

49397, I adjusted it somewhat a week or two ago (n/t)

49473, Thanks again for looking into it and fixing it.

It's still a burden but its no longer unplayable :)

49390, Could someone please take a look at this flaw?

I posted in bug board about it quite some time ago, in addition to what was mentioned in this thread. It just seems very buggy. As it stands, getting afflicted with bleeding is pretty much a guaranteed death sentence unless you're a healer, ranger, or have someone nearby who can artificially cut hours off the timer. It never goes away on its own.

49235, Just sit still and rest/sleep

Just stop doing things to reopen it, and it'll heal. Here's a hint, keep a close eye on the duration as you do things, and you'll figure it out quickly enough.
It's just the bleeding effect. No stat penalties.

49236, So would this be normal?

Didn't move or do anything but speak to other people. Did use cabal powers and eat and drink.
Wound was open for over 24 hours then kept going up. At one point it was at 40 hours. This is over the course of 30+ mins of playing time. After that it never would drop below 24 without going back up to 30+ for the next 15 mins.
Ended up curing it though another cabal power by luck mostly.
Before it was cured, I went to a safe place, and basically walked away from the PC at that point it had been like 45+ mins of this and came back later and it was STILL around 32 hours.
It seems like something is out of wack, but again I don't know and I'm not complaining just want to make sure its by design and not like, something is F'ed up.

49243, Yeah, I'm actually experiencing that now, too

I think it's buggy and I already bug-boarded it, but no response yet.

49250, I really hope someone takes a look at it.

I have had 3-4 log ins basically completely ####ed because of it.
I totally understand that Flaws are supposed to make things harder. However this has completely negated my ability to play the character. Sleep wait till you can berserk, sleep again doing NOTHING other then that for over 1 hour at a time.
We asked for these things, but if I had know that it was going to essentially ruin my ability to play the character ever other log in, I wouldn't have made the decision to try and make something unique.
It just keeps stacking and stacking and stacking, and then wait 30 mins and its back to where it was and then it stacks again. Another 30 mins and then I pretty much have wasted a hour sitting in a single room trying to just wait out bleeding. I have taking up reading a book when it happens because it is impossible to just sit there spamming AF each tick to see the number go down 3 up 5 down 2 up 5 down 6 up 10.
Frustration utter frustration.

49392, heal heal?
Posted by highbutterfly on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I haven't picked the flaw so I will admit I don't understand fully, but isn't this solved by a few gold at the healer?

49425, Not at all. However it seems to have been fixed !!
Posted by Stopped bleeding so bad. on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
It still gets bad sometimes, and sometimes requires a good deal of timeout. Thing is it used to just exponentially get worse and worse and worse after a real hour playing time it kinda defeats the character. If you can't log in for 2 hours, play one bleed the other, its rough. Some things would heal it completely but they were skill/sup/comm or powers that aren't available to a lot of players. Having a flaw that you can fix easily was not the point of taking it, having one that made half your log in null and void was also not the point. Now its perfect, it is SERIOUSLY debilitating when you would expect it to be, and that is often enough that it makes sense in char to take it for what reasons people do. Thing is it also makes it so that you can still play, and have fun, even though its much tougher now sometimes because its like a nagging thing that affects you enough to negate some edge you may have on others. I am thankful they made the fix, and I am still glad from an RP side of things that I took the flaw.
