48684, Does this seem like a bit much to anyone?
Posted by mage on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I'm starting a new thread for this because the deathblow thread is too big. Additionally, I am not normally one to complain about rager powers in any way, because I've played several and they can have it pretty rough at times. However, this little thing just seems a bit off...

Berserker deflects your spell!
Berserker's spellbane injures you.
Berserker maims you!
Berserker devastates you!
Berserker delivers a blow of deadly force!
Berserker *** DEVASTATES *** you!
Berserker has some small but disgusting cuts.

Deathblow on a free shot due to spellbane? Isn't deflected spell + free hits enough? Do we really need deathblows firing on free hits that don't even have a damage type to give you a chance to resist them with SOMETHING?
48688, Ohh my god! do you guys never stop complain?

i see ragers get owned by both melee classes and mages everytime im on with a char.

Stop the crying, play the game. Become better to the game. And then find a weakness to them, and beat them..

Nothing wrong with deathblow, and nothing is wrong with the ABS system... Its the players who always turn things intro beein OP or to hard..

Grow a pair
48687, hahaha! I love me some DB threads, it really shows who has a keen eye for mechanics

I love them because DB is not OP.

SPELLBANE IS OP!!!!!!!!!!!

And yet you never see spellbane is OP threads...

I mean its a single power that is up more or less all the time with no drawbacks that cuts the success rate of almost all of your primary enemies key abilities in half + gives you free shots.

I garuntee you that if you removed spellbane and just made DB hit harder(and gave it to every path) you would see a whole lot more dead villagers and far fewer dead mages.
48693, There is one way around spellbane, as a mage:

Be a shapeshifter.

I would argue that saying spellbane "cuts the success rate of almost all of your primary enemies key abilities in half" is incorrect, because many (more than half?) mages are shapeshifters.

I wonder what the hard numbers are on shapeshifters/mages ratio these days??

That makes *so* much more sense.

Thank you for the clarification.
