What kind of resolutions should we make for 2013?

Mine: Arial City is always on my New Years CF Resolution list. And I think I'll try and hero an evil mort this year and pk some. Why not? I'm also going to try and run a long running quest of some kind. This isn't my forte but I think it's worth giving a go.

Make cf a fun place for others to play. Paying it forwards is
something that comes in divedends. Not rage once this year is my
real resolution. I think I semi raged last year once.. Went ooc and cursed at someone and deleted, nothing crazy.

My ooc resolution is to keep an A average in my MCT class.

A+ hardware/software CERTIFIED
Fiber Optic/FOA CERTIFIED

Not bad considering I was homeless a year ago, couch sufing and doing way to much crystal.

I already posted it on the other forum.. but I've been pretty much everywhere, even most of the way through hell except the Silent Tower. So hopefully this year, if it stays open, I'll get a chance to explore there.

With a good role/reason for hating magic, and in tandem with this, I will try to hero an evil.

And of course big thanks to the administrators for Carrion Fields. This game is so amazing that many people read logs and forums all the time even though they can't find enough energy to actually play again for a long time already.

I think Cf became more like little social organization instead of just game after all these years (i hope i translated my idea right).

2: Make a follower of at least one of the IMMs that I really should've tried by now:

And ofc get a tattoo of whatever religion I do try. (Still only ever have gotten one.)

3: Learn how to do the most vital thing in Nyathel Ikalith (Bleh on my spelling...) (If it stays open for long enough for me to get into.)

4: Give quitting CF another try? (Joking, that sure as hell won't happen!)

5: Is this the year where I try to hero-imm?

But for '13:

Play a religion I've never played (Akresius, Ray, Lian, new empire guy, etc all look interesting).

Play an evil conjurer.

Hero a healer, necro or druid (last on my list!).

If I could do 2 of those at once, that'd be cool :)

By which I mean I will try to teach them how to gear, some useful areas, and some basic rp and pk.

Never done it. Heck I am not sure I have even hero'd in the last six months. So that's my goal. Oh and it can't be a fort char.

Haven't had one get past 25. Not sure whether that means a shaman or paladin.

I completed my 09 Resolution (a couple times over now).

2013: Age/Con-die a character (I have a habit of deleting in the 150-250 hour range).

I still haven't done that. I've had some successful ones up through the mid-ranks, I just haven't managed to stick with it to the end. I'm not quite sure why.

I'd also like to play a class "successfully" that isn't either a paladin, shaman or assassin. I've hero'd a few others besides that, but never really fared well PK- or RP-wise.

Also, I'd like to win a role contest. I came in 2nd or honorable mention a few times back in the day, but I've been too lazy with roles recently.. basically just putting something on paper that's "good enough". I'm trying to break that trend and really do something noteworthy.

Prev years resolutions. Hrm... I'm still shy on my offhand comment
to nep years back when I said I'd play every race/class combo to
hero. The more time passes the more serious I become about this. :)

Don't be an ass. I think I'm pretty good at this in general, if things
go bad I take it out on me not the 'other guy'.

Try acolytes, be freakishly nice. IMHO epic success there.

Try to remember that while he front door LOOKS like wood, it is metal
so getting frustrated and punching it WILL break your hand. I did really well with this for a long time, but since I'm typing this with a broken knuckle and there is a new dent in the door we will call it
a fail. :)

Sphere Courage for pounce tat OR Sphere Strength and wait 400 hrs for Thror's soften tat :)

Grab all the pimp goodie/rager only items. Grab a troll hide and a ancient black dragon hide to give you two more resists (to go along with the three you have). Have real decent dam redux with Gates + increased regen rates with items.

To get better at exploring. Become undead. Make my arpee "click", so that it's always on 100% of the time. Make roles that allow me to banter with foes/allies better. Have a super-successful Scarab follower.

Learn to get better at exploring, so I don't just die painfully, over and over. Learn to find wands better.

I need to figure out a rager I can play with my utterly minimal amount of free and uninterrupted time (maybe an hour or so after the small children fall asleep). So something that can do okay with no limited gear. I've never had much luck playing CF in small chunks though, I lose my rhythm, especially when I log in and don't recognize half the characters even though I'm a hero. Mostly because I'm really an RP guy foremost, and you can't matter to the CF world on an hour or two per week.

Fail...though my current investigation has me interested in orc-dom, maybe that'll be my character this year.

Little bit of RL trouble=Insta fail on character. Also my goal is to learn atleast two more religion in CF and finally get over 400 hours or 100 pks on a character. Maybe actually not make a thowaway scion app.

Oh and maybe get my cousin to play again so I can destroy him in pk again. #### sirak.

Because that's always going to be my favorite class to play. Then maybe try a shot at hero imming if I have the time and if they'll let me since I think it could be fun to do a revamp of the Ship's Graveyard, Western Aryth and Crystal Island. Though I doubt time will let me attempt it, it's a fun thought.

And I found my old resolution out there. To help newbies. I think I do that at times (or try to) at least when it comes to people playing bards that have questions.

Lastly, to not be as much of an ass in game or on these forums. That's my resolution every year though, but it's a good one to make for all of us.

Which is more bad ass, a 3 foot midget laying down the smack or a 12 foot giant?

I often imagine svirfs in combat to be like yoda in the more recent star wars movies.

Heroimms are typically given a 100 room area. Consider that the ship graveyard alone is 100 rooms. Western Aryth is 170 and Crystal Island is another 100. You'd have to really love writing to redo all that, though I would certainly approve breaking this project up into chunks.

My next goal is undeath, or an AP with a strong weapon.

I also need to play a rager.

edit: also I'd like to actually be part of a quest. Still haven't done so.
