47631, I know rangers CAN have access to potions or scrolls or staves

To get some dam reduction when facing abs scions, flyto murder shifters etc they appear to lack dam reduction of any real kind as the scrolls/staves and potions they may be able to use are mostly limited and everyone is using them or hogging them.

Is it too overpowered to ask that Rangers bark skin give some damage reduction when they hit level 40 and maybe make it scale up to hero so as not to make them OP at 40?

Also, do hunters have a better lash skill than other rangers? kind of like warriors who are spec'd in whips? If not, it might be nice to let them lash a bit? Just a thought.

Yup.

Someone might be able to sell me on an edge where rangers can no longer use talismans (which they would need to actually have) and get fairly minor barkskin DR in exchange. Maybe.

A ranger edge called 'Barkskin of the Feathery Willow' adds some resistance to the kind of slashing damage you usually find shapeshifter claws inflicting.

There are also many non-limited forms of damage reduction you may find useful in varying degrees. Ask around ingame!

Don't forget that when rangers acquire Wilderness Familiarity, they gain a significant boost to their defenses against animals/in the wilds.
47633, I didn't find that edge super helpful

I only took it because Rasst took it. I think the sap or + str one might give you better mileage.
