If your servitor is angry enough, you probably should be thinking about dismissing it with about as much mana as you spent conjuring it.
47105, So try some other tactics?

I only once died to my own servitors once I got that edge.

I did not, however, attempt dismissals with 300 mana.

Tactics ranged from using my durable familiar and a circle (I had the circle making edge) to deal with them, or just blasting them with everything I had (which was normally over 1000 mana -- admittedly most of the time I had troll form and used slow).

I had Balta all over me, and repeatedly fleeing made my devil angry. I was pretty exhausted from just dealing with Balta and I seem to recall he had spores on me.

And I love using me some spores on classes that
need mana!!!

Early on I tended to be incapable of dismissing my demons (27 or so). Later it became a joke to dismiss them. If you're in a bind, with demon or devil getting angry, you can bring them to Maethien if you're quick.

That's an interesting idea that somehow never occured to me. Nice.

Is there an easy way to tell if your servitor is getting pissed? Other than trying to notice things like, "This guy isn't following me as quickly as he normally does.."
47115, Top 10: You know your servitor is getting pissed when ...
Posted by Quixotic on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
10. she doesn't stay fewer than two paces behind you.

9. she looks at the circle you put so much hard time into and laughs.

8. you do things she normally likes and she calmly informs you that you are only meeting her minimum expectations.

7. you go to bind her like you usually do and she starts to bitch-slap the #### out of you.

6. she tells you in no uncertain terms that she did not bring a swimming suit and you will not be making her swim.

5. you get into an argument and she just stands by and lets you get creamed.

4. you decide you would like to hang out at the Inn on a Saturday night, but she wanted to go to the Imperial ballroom and hit the mosh pit.

3. you try to dismiss her, but she wasn't done interacting with you.

2. when you get in a bar fight and you miss and hit her instead.

And the number one way to tell your servitor is getting pissed...

1. she overhears you referring to her as your servitor.

There are a few different tells, but they're all about that level of subtle.

I do feel like it's something you develop a sense for after you've been playing the class for a while -- and, of course, sometimes you know you're pissing the servitor off and you're living on borrowed time, e.g. I'm an evil conjurer, I have an angel bound and I'm not fighting something it particularly enjoys fighting.

When I was playing Masinger, I had so many outlanders after me that I couldn't get rid of thornheart. So I went to Arboria and conjured an archon, then started fighting undead there.

I would JUST heal me when I was below about 200hp (out of circa 1000), so it wasn't great. And then after a while, it decided to turn on me despite me killing undead non-stop.

Good aligned servitors were useful, but definitely not for prolonged periods of time. Angel was very nice though in certain situations.

The extra damage they do by cutting through protection is SWEEET and it tends to catch them off guard. I did this with winged angels a number of times since they were simple to dismiss/kill off after the fact.
47102, People, feed them people
Posted by laxman on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Also be mindful of the veil. Accept that now and then there is nothing to do but die.

You can feed them low level stuff, you can let your elemental tank(elem commands) you can also buy a merc to tank for you. The tanking is important because you want to avoid using the flee command or being hurt in general
