4664, learning echos

"The dissonance in that last phrase was perfect!" "Your ability to sing ... has improved!"
I like this, I think this is a really neat and flavorful addition to learning, but...
why not have messages such as that for other skills too?
"That swing felt perfect!" "Your ability to use swords has improbed!"

Speaking of bard song learning, I've always wanted to see the learning echoes highlighted like they are with skills/sups/spells. Not really worth the time it would take to do it I suppose.

Last time I looked, CF has north of 1200 possible things you could improve at. Damn if I'm writing 1200+ special messages, and I think it could be confusing from the player's side.
We could probably whip up some variety by class, category (skill vs. spell vs. power), how good you are at the skill, etc., however.

Yeah, I thought about that fact soon after I posted.. but I didn't really have a good suggestion as to how to do it so...
I do like that idea though, the echos by class and/or catagory. Maybe if you didn't have an echo every time you improved at something, maybe that'd would cut down the amount of echos you'd have to write? And maaaybe the next Valg's monthly contest should be echos... such as improvement echos, skill/spell/power use echos(this might be useful for potential revamps?), area echos, etcetera etcetera. Maybe even socials?
Like I said, the learning echos for the songs not only add a lot of flavor, but a lot of realism to improving. Sure, you use something a lot, you improve at it.. but the echos tell you how, and that's really cool. That's one of the things I've found very enjoyable about my latest bard.
Thanks for responding!

In general, you can email me about echoes. This can range from "This echo is problematic:" to suggesting new ones. Changing them is usually fast and easy, especially if new decision points ("split this by...") are not introduced. The newer Detect Invis and Detect Magic wearoff echoes came from a complaint email like this. :)
