Such as, does a higher wis give your communes a better chance to land?

From what I understand, a high wisdom confers a supplication level bonus, which can result in:
- Increased supp duration - Increased supp effectiveness - Harder to resist supps - Harder to dispel supps

Looking at the comments here and from the other board, it seems many players seem to think that Wisdom does play into effect with communing. However, there is a link posted from 2003 where Daevryn says he doesn't think wisdom has an affect on communing.
Now, since there are many low wis races who seem to do just fine as Shamans and because its Daev I'm inclined to go with what he says but since that was a post from nearly 10 years ago and several claim otherwise can we get some clarification?
