46433, Three months with no bug fixes.
Posted by Homard on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
What can the playerbase do to re-engage the IMPs and make them want to be as much a part of the game as they used to be?

Personally, I think that decreased IMP involvement is just as detrimental to the future of CF as dwindling player numbers (which seem to be up a bit lately, actually.)

So, what can be done?

I think that's how it goes in polite terms.
46480, Here is a drawing ot Drokalanatym to commemorate the process

46481, Why...

...is he breathing fire on a pair of floating testicles?

Those gnomes sure seem excited for their roasted nuts.
46483, Gnomes have multiple pairs of arms?
Posted by mage on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I think those are supposed to be "bugs" and the dragon is roasting the bugs. As in, fixing bugs in the game. And the "nuts" are the eyes of a bug that was just roasted.
46484, Correct.

It is Drokalanatym attacking the bug queue. Matrik probably misinterpreted the drawing on purpose, so I didn't bother to correct him, but it is nice to see that you bothered.
46482, Awesome.

I just want to see all the IMMs enjoying the game as much as I do.

I'm around and even working on some stuff. Just, not the bug queue. Every time I look at it lately I just sigh and work on something else.
46452, The bug queue is filled with sadness and sighs :( NT

46437, Stay off the forums...
Posted by The Heretic on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Zulg, Daev and Scarab should stay off the forums. It is a soul-sucking waste of a developer's time.

Designate some IMM staff to deal with the players and handle the forums.
46434, Ban all Trolls? nt

I've played CF on and off for 14 years. It used to be I'd get the itch, find myself browsing the forums just 'to see what's going on'. Sure enough the next day or two I'd get excited about a role, or a cabal or a class that had something new and I'd be hooked for another few months.

These past three years or so whenever I get the itch, I look at the forums, and almost immediately get cured of my itch to play. The sheer numbers of people spewing hate and trolling just for the sake of it really amazes me.

Now I just check out the forums as a sort of car crash mentality. One day someone will finally ban all these people and maybe I'll play again, or the idiots will win and I'll find out the mud has finally shut down. Either way I'm curious to see how it goes.
46439, The forums are better than they used to be.

Also, I don't think many people here understand what the word troll means. I'm called one, but I certainly am not.
46443, Forums are not really a problem
Posted by lasentia on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Posters are :)

I would not consider Alston a troll for example. To me he seems to have a general interest in CF, and improving the game as a whole, and that's a good thing. Anything that is civil in nature allows a good exchange of ideas to come about, and some of them to make their way into the game, so I'm all for it. Sadly his posts do get attacked at times and sometimes things that happen IC bleed into posts. Happens to us all, but I still think the posts are a net gain for the forums- you do come out with lots of good suggestions in my opinion.

It's the crappage that some people spew that hamper the forums. People expressing thoughts or concerns or just throwing out ideas for discussion is beneficial for vets and new players alike. Dialogue is healthy after all, so long as it is done with a degree of respect for each other and constructive manner.

Obviosuly most of us who post play CF. Most of us like CF. Most of us want to CF continue so that we can play when we get that itch. This doesn't mean we all have to agree on everything though, but if we as players just keep the civility in our posts that would generally make these forums all the better. (and I think they are good right now anyway)
46467, I think it's ironic...
Posted by NoobAgain on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
... that you would respond to this post, because frankly speaking, what very often makes me close the browser is reading a lot of your posts. (It is not my intent - just to be very clear - to insult you or to start a flame war, I am just giving you a perspective on how some of your posting affects some of the readers.)

46471, You're abrasive and obtuse at best.
Posted by vargal on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
You really, really need to change how you phrase your messages, and further, learn to not post at all when you think someone is "flaming" you.
46472, admirable that you are still trying to help him
Posted by laxman on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I must admit his presence certainly increases posting frequency.
46474, They are obviously not the only one.
Posted by Tac on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I would think that much should be evident even to you. Either you are too stupid to live, or you purposefully troll people in this fashion. From someone who reads every post on both forums, I can honestly say that your posts are the only ones I've ever had to try to avoid and/or not post negative responses (like this one) to.

I don't believe you are a troll, but I can't prove you are as stupid as you appear, so I think you should be banned as one.

46487, It's you and others like you who are oblivious.
Posted by Alston on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Not everyone though.

It's been how many years now and inflammatory posts against me have done what for the flamers peace of mind? Nothing.

I have my opinions and they are better than yours until you give me reason to believe other wise. It's always been that way, it always will be. I'm not inflexible, I'm principled and rquire more than is commonly provided for me here.

As dumb as people think I am, I'm inclined to think many of you are close to retardation and moral bankruptcy.

I'm just sayin'.
