45964, Greeting the Avalanche as an elf/drow
Posted by lildude on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I'm curious, has anyone tried this combination? Normal elf/drow bash is pretty silly but how much would greeting overcome the size/weight limitations in the ability to lag or avoid lag?
Thanks for any insight.

45969, I would advise against it

Even a dwarf with greeting had a lot of problems with bash. The weight variable seems to have one of the biggest impacts on the effects of bash, so that low of a str and you won't be bashing anyone except other elves for much.

45970, What kind of weight are we talking to make greeting effective?

How much were you typically carrying that you had issues?
Did you ever experiment with weight levels up to your max and see any varied results?
Does anyone know what the weight thread hold is to make greeting effective?

45971, I am not positive its as much weight as it is STR

I did a half drow (prime state int) greeting/striking warrior. I had bash perfected and even then I was only landing 50% of my bashes on a good day, missing 2 in a row or 1/3 was fairly common so you couldn't effectively go with a perma lag strat from the get go with reliability.
I also have had giants running with weight that was more or less equal to what the half-drow was toting and even without greeting they simply landed bashes with more regularity. It leads me to believe that size/STR are bigger factors than the absolute weight or % of total weight.

45967, I knew someone who tried it

as a drow, eating yellow roots like candy and still hated it because it missed so often.
Weight is a big deal, and elves just can't hack it in that department.
