44388, Disturbing players.
Posted by That guy on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
If I was a nuissance in a public venue like a ball park I would be removed. If I wasn't the proprietors of the place could expect to see a decline in patrons.
I'm curious as to why the staff here doesn't take a similar approach.
I;ve already encountered a certain someones character and pegged them for who they were, litterally the first sentence they sent to me.
My experience is already lessened by this to the point I do not want to rank because I know they will full loot and talk #### me if they kill me.
I'm predicting a long flaming thread when this character passes and, what is more, I'm sure there will come threads on Dio's about his prickishness because that's just who they are.
So why are these players allowed here?

I recommend a strong dose of man the #### up.
Don't really know who you're talking about, but how bout you kill and full loot them?
|
44390, That would not accomplish anything.
Posted by That guy on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
The behavior would continue and I feel I have as much a right to express my grievance over this person behavior as anyone.
What's more, not all classes are capable of doing what you suggest.
I would ask that the player is banned based upon their past and continued behavior. A thinly disguised veil of RP to justify their griefing isn't enough to allow it to continue.
I won't mention their name because they are banned here and on officials and thus can't defend themselves, but they need to go. This is of course my opinion.
I wish there was a system in place where we as players could report each other and not be lambasted for being upset when wronged or griefed by people like this.
|
44391, ..this is the officials board.
Posted by Lhydia on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
There is a system in place. When people break the rules you pray about it and they get denied. When they become disruptive on the forums they get banned. When they complain and cry about no system being in place that helps them to not get pk'd they get made fun of.
|
44398, I'm speaking of players who are intentionally disruptive.
Posted by That guy again. on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
We know who they are and I think they should be banned, even if they haven't broken a rule persay. if they have been consistantly voted as having ####ty characters that have a negative impact, get rid of them. They are a detrement to the game.

44401, Yeah but one mans detriment is another mans bliss

I absolutely love killing those people and watching their ooc meltdowns and snot bubbles when they get pkd especially when it is followed with rotd for them. Funnyone meltdowns are the best.

44416, Isn't trolling a Bannable offense?
Posted by Alston on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
This person is clearly trolling. Their reply isn't even in line with the complaint.
Get rid of this crap.
|
44417, I don't view his reply as a troll.
Posted by Twist on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
He's saying that while you, personally, may have issues with the type of player you describe, he finds it enjoyable to kill the characters that exhibit the behavior you dislike. Perhaps more enjoyable than a normal PKwin.
The subsequent meltdown, while something most people roll their eyes at, is something that some people enjoy having caused, especially to a player like that.
To put it another way, if some jerkoff cuts you off on a busy freeway, only to get pulled over moments later, don't you feel a moment of quiet satisfaction? I know I do.
|
44429, I don't read that in his response at all.
Posted by Alston on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I read it as, he enjoys being the guy that causes ANYONE to melt down. In other words he is being antagonistic toward this post and thus trolling it.
What ever though.

44432, Rereading it I guess that is what he meant. n/t

If by "this crap" you mean this entire thread, then I agree with you. I also find it amusing that you try to hide behind anonymity by posting as "that guy" and still get pegged by other players.
Posts like this are not why we allow you to post anonymously.
|
44428, The reason was.
Posted by Alston on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Because I posted after an encounter with affore mentioned griefer and I did not want to be clear on the link between the characters.
Edit: Is it fair game to publicly guess at who it is behind an anonymous post now?
|
44430, Anonymity
Posted by Homard on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Anonymous posting is so we can post with the handles of our active characters and not have to post cryptically in goodbyes or make five hundred different accounts.
It would be unacceptable to guess at who was posting under the handle "Satebos," but not who is complaining under the handle "Complainer."
Isn't this obvious?
|
44439, You're not anonymous if you give yourself away just by being you.
Posted by robdarken_ on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
In this case you shouldn't have posted anything.
If you haven't realized by now that you're really easy to spot in game and on the forums you need to rethink that a bit.
|
44440, Fallacy. Easy to spot to some...
Posted by Alston on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Doesn't mean easy to spot to all. Nor does my identy change the fact that there are players who are in it to #### over other players and should be banned.
|
44447, You are a communist.

You want to ban people for motive. Thought crime. Something you obviously cannot know, and is entirely subjective. You are from Soviet Russia!
If they break rules, they get banned. If they don't break rules, they don't get banned. Simple.
|
44449, Tsk tsk. And here I always assumed you had integrity.
Posted by Alston on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I specificlly mentioned banning the players that have done nothing but cause grief.
That's not being thought police, it's being quality control.
You've lost your priviledges for being dishonest.
