44069, I am the "leak"...
Posted by Twist on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Here's the correspondence. This was post-Cyradia-deletion and an honest attempt by me to explain to theForsaken/Dallevian that she wasn't just completely lying in what she told him in the RotD.

His email to me:
>> Can you provide any clarification here? Cyradia said this in the RotD
>> which is patently wrong. Was this really in my char's comments?
>> Character was Obrohom.
>>
>> "An Immortal says 'Also, it says here you were an asshole in the
>> description room and tried to copy/paste from another player who was
>> also
>> in there.'"
>>
>>
>> If not, I understand, but I'm very bothered by the possibility of my
>> comments including outright and undeserving lies.
>>
>> Thank you.

My response:

> From the history (posted AFTER your talk with Cyradia):
>
> "Just so things are clear, I noticed he had stolen Agarah/Ahtieli's
> description after he had quit out from a desc room session with xxx (who
> didn't notice it was stolen.) XXXX offline Realmed him, so there was no
> actual conversation with the character about it until you spoke with him
> in 1212."
>
> There are other comments in your history about your time in the desc room
> that I believe misled Cyradia. The comments are phrased poorly.

My point here is that the character in question DID have a history entry that led Cyradia to act as she did, and only AFTER that talk did the history that I pasted get added.

There is no "email Twist to get hooked up with all your immortal commentary" hotline. The purpose of me replying to the email was to clear the air for Dallevian, who was clearly feeling very wronged.

Flame on, I guess.

You're the "HR guy" - so this is an example of you doing your job, and you shouldn't feel too weirdly about it.
44090, I didn't, until it blew up on Dio's.

At which point I was like "Oh, damn, maybe I shouldn't have done that."

Then I re-read what I emailed and decided screw that noise. What I did was fine. At least in my opinion. :P

Lesson learned, then? :)

There's always some pain from both ends when untying knots. But somebody's gotta be chief knot-untier.
44075, Much obliged.

And I hope my apology earlier is accepted.

As I tried to plainly indicate on qhcf, Twist was only trying to help mediate the matter in that nothing untoward was going on.

Secondly, I have never asked for anything like this before nor would I ever want to again. It isn't a position I want to be in (a rules violation, correct or not) nor is it a position I want to stick someone else in (in this case, an immortal breaking form).

Twist mediating on this helped put me at ease and accept the history comments to be a (bad) mistake.
44080, I think his post clears it all up.

And proves yet again a case of it looks bad but when all the facts came out, it wasn't.
44070, You didn't do anything wrong. -nt-
