Just out of curiosity from another discussion.

What do you guys as IMM's personally think or how do you view characters when they cb "(Name) is dead." and that's it.

You think less of them?... Golf clap?... Think it's unnecessary?

I've always felt like it was someone tooting their own horn.

It doesn't annoy me a ton, but I rarely/never do it myself. I do realize that there is a time and place for it.

Of course, this isn't something I ever hear on the Herald cabal channel. :P

I don't mind it in general (the death of enemies of the cabal, in particular, may be of general interest), but it's best not to do it in my cabal.

You don't have an open cabal!

Or do you?

I'd say it is something too dependent on a number of factors to feel one way or another about it. It depends on the character's RP, and it depends on the situation. If it is tactical info, then "XXX is dead" without anything else is just fine. Also, if that is all you get on a character of few words, Roocka comes to mind recently, that is fine too. Along with what Daev said about grandstanding, its fine to me as long as it fits the RP of the character, and is not someone just showing of their PK wins.

Depends on the context.

If someone else in my cabal might want to know because it impacts a raid or retrieval situation I'm fine with it. If it's every single time you kill someone it comes off more as grandstanding.
42267, I don't have a problem with it.

I've done my share of it as a mortal.

I do see it, in general, as "I did something that may interest you, other cabalmates. Especially if you, too, were hunting that guy."

I'll announce such things if I'm sub-hero in case heroes of the cabal were waiting for that one lowbie retriever to not be able to retrieve or something.

I try to throw a little more RP into it than "cb Joebob is dead." though. :P But I don't always.
