I noticed alot of people posting this and that about the wand system being broken, leaking info, whatever. And it seems to be making the imms pretty pissed, to the point where they're actually talking about shutting down the game. I never post about these kinds of things, but seems it needs to be said. The Imms do one HELL OF A JOB on this game. The longest i've ever actively played another game is like a year. I've been actively playing this game for 14 years now! It's awesome. And in no way am I the Imm's pet or anything, back in the day I was actually on their #### list, and banned a couple times. lol. But that is another story... I made this post to refute the claims of what I can only hope is the minority, that the system is flawed. As I stated on the other forum, about 4 years ago I didn't have a single wand location. Nor did I know any preps. (excluding the simple armor potions and what-not.) I was the super-noob getting his head beat in by all the vets. But then again, I was fine in that role. I would take my beating from the vets, then go find a noob like me to go have a fun fight with. It was my decision. I didn't want to go looking for preps, nor did I ever want to explore... (Just recently have I explored the underdark. Kind of funny.. 14 years, just now finding drow city lol..) Anyways, after many years of this, I decided that I didn't want it to be that way anymore. I made the concious decision that I was going to put in the TIME and EFFORT to become better. So I rolled my first mage. Ranked up. Got inducted into a cabal. Promptly got my ass handed to me on many occasions. But guess what else I did. I learned new wand locations. I learned where to find fly without potions. I learned stone skin locations and talisman aura locations. And do you know what super tactic I used to get this super-eliteplayer-nono-information? I asked. I asked people to help me in game and in my cabal. No OOC. No floating wand lists. Simply asked. After that mage was a complete bust, my next one was pretty decent. And I learned even more with that one. When all was said and done, I had about 120 wand locations and an asston of other prep knowledge as well as growing in other ways as well. It took about 500-600 in game hours. What it boils down to is how much we're willing to give to the game. I didn't want to get assraped by vets anymore, so I actively made the decision to get better and put in alot of time to do so. By no means am I the greatest player of all or anything, but I like to think I can at least hang with the badasses, whereas before it was a no contest assrape. Zulg. I'm asking as a 14 year player for you to not shut #### down. Daev. Same to you. Thanks for an awesome game, and I hope I speak for some other people who, like me, rarely get a chance to check out these boards, so they don't know everything that's going on.
