Do transmuters receive some sort of bonus or special ability against spellbane or are their spells exactly the same as any other spell, from any other class, in respect of getting through spellbane?

If I remember correctly, some of their spells have paralysis rather than spell saves, and that has some amount of relevance to how they're spellbaned.

So, indirectly, they may have an edge there because an awful lot people walk around with zero paralysis save.

Ok, so then the answer is 'no', there is no inherent bonus to transmuter spells vs. anyone else's spells. Thank you.

I'm not trying to be a jerk but could we please get a "yes I checked and here is what it does" rather than a "I think this is what it does".

The reason it is being asked is because 20 people think they know. We are asking for someone who actually can check to verify it.

Also, I always thought do_spellbane was a straight if save = 1 then do_spellbane. Are you saying that some spells checks things other than save vs. spell?

He's saying that if a spell saves vs para instead of saves vs spell, it checks save vs para to spellbane.

Its a complete gearing nightmare especially for villagers who already have gearing problems.

I am too lazy to search but it was either you or zulg (possibly as santa zulg) that gave muters a boost to getting through spellbane maybe 3-5 years ago.

Having played a lot of people with spellbane I would be really really surprised if this was not true.

In practice it's a boost, because most Battle carry a lot more spell save than paralysis save. At the time we were probably vague about the mechanic.
