41314, Good day to you, kind sir!

Now that I have your attention, may I ask how the Inferno revamp is going? It's such a huge area so I understand it's going to take quite some time, but I'm curious as what to roll up to continue exploring it? Are the rumors true that goodies, BattleRagers, and neutral types will be able to explore it as well without suffering alignment change or having to travel with outlanders for windwalk?
When I heard a "Disturbed"** song yesterday, it made me think of CF inferno and I said to myself, "Man, I wish Scarab would say those intro lyrics to us soon.."
(Burning)Scarabaeus yells "NOW, I BRING YOU, HELL!"

Rumors? There are rumors?
Well, they'd be true. It's also true that it's going to take a while.
I'm currently trying not to break the Theran weather system by making all of Hell "outdoors" (you will have access to a "sky" of sorts, but with no day or night, sun or moon) and delineating the weather systems for each circle--all of which will be of benefit to some characters.

41319, Very cool

You just gave people a reason to make a ranger or water shifter for exploring! Seriously, those classes are screwed in most "end game" fun.
If the "rain" on the third actually affected you or "noxious fumes" near the bridges was explosive....ya, I should shut up ;) It'll be hard enough. On a random thought, you might want to stop allowing people to "drag" mobs across circles as well - it was a pretty easy trick to clear areas by dragging mobs to locked rooms...
I have to ask though - the last time I made it to Satan I actually cleaved him. If he died, what happens? Is it possible? Would I have seen the scrolling end-game credits of CarrionFields? I don't really think it'll ever happen so would be funny to know what would have happened before the change.
Little updates like this about the weather would be very cool to get as well :) CF needs a developer blog...

That was one of my goals with doing this update; another was just making the environment more what I envisioned but was unable to accomplish in 1995(?). I don't have 10 years to devote to it, but whatever is high on my list might as well go in now.
If the "rain" on the third actually affected you...
Yeah, it has bothered me that it was merely descriptive.
Is it possible?
No, you could not cleave him in two.

I might get yelled at for the other coding I'm doing. :P

I am picturing a pruning axe or a thin rapier cutting the mountain sized satan in half.
You feel a surge of luck coming on! You cut the Prince of Darkness in HALF! The top half of him slides off and crushes you. You died!

Still think it'd be nice to see like what's in the queue, what everyone is working on. Take most gaming blog for example - it gives the devs a way to say what they're doing and for people to give random feedback (like for example the rain). It'd also be good to just hear random tidbits like "Oh ya, finished another shaman edge today - here's a preview!" If anything, it'd also show who is active and give some credit to those behind the scenes. There's probably a lot going on (like the inferno stuff) that most have no idea about until we ask.

Figured as much, but curious what would happen if he died :) Granted with how hard he hit me, doubt it's even possible.
