40372, Midrank Evil conjie OP

So I notice quite a few evil conjies these day in the mid ranks that are just destroying everyone they go up against. Especially if they are a scion with a nightwalker and a silver construct which bashes. I've seen warriors who wipe out groups of three and are dressed in uber hero gear go down in two rounds to their army. How are you supposed to beat them solo or even without a huge group? You can say get them unprepared but these guys aren't stupid, they are gone well before they need to reconjure. I get why they are level sitting around 28 so they can get murderous reputation super easy, but should it be this over the top imbalanced? What makes it even more fun is when their demon takes all your weapons too. So what tactic am I missing here besides ganging them down?

Is knowing in advance whether you can tank the minions or not in the amount of time it will take you to kill the conjie - and that's something that is going to vary on a case by case basis and requires a lot of experience.

It's not something every character can do, which is fine - not every character can solo a mid-rank axe spec either or any other number of scenarios.

But yeah as a "tanky" defensive warrior you're going to have a tough time with demons - they use hand to hand and will have levels on you and your 'defensive' combo probably won't have enough HP and DPS to take them down before you die.

That's a fair point. In my experience a spec like axe or mace usually stands up to it much better than something like sword or spear.

Midrank sword can roll most of their range with bash. A demon's the rock to that scissors.

kill the demon or elemental. They really are kinda fragile.

Other then that yeah if you let an evil conjie come at you when he is ready for it then your going to be in trouble. A lot of their drawbacks are things you as an enemy won't see (but look at the number of evil conjies who hit 51 it is super duper low for a reason)

I agree at hero with the right preps I would kill the demon. However at these levels I'm not lasting two or three rounds as a tanking warrior with sick gear. Also their construct is lagging me the whole time.

a.) That construct shouldn't be lagging you all the time I have fought against a person with it dozens of times and honestly I didn't even notice it bash once. Sometimes the RNG will suck but its not going to be often. If its really an issue then use enlarge preps.

b.) if you are only lasting 2-3 rounds then you need to prep or just retreat. Same tactic to use against anyone out damaging you by such an extreme amount.

c.) If you can string out your fights to 5-8 rounds you can fight in rooms with other mobs to get them involved in slaying the conjurer.

d.) as mentioned elsewhere elementals can get moody if they are under water (except water elementals) so get the guy to chase you underwater.

Nothing will be done because CF immortals believe everything is balanced and thats that.

Sorry, thanks for playing.

You really need to stop trolling the forums with your butthurt. If you hate the imms/game that much, just stop playing.

No one wants to hear your bitching and moaning.
40386, The OP is the one bitching

Now how about you stop stalking me here.
40405, Sorry, but you can't throw the criticisms
Posted by incognito on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
And then complain when you are criticised.
40385, You are almost right.

The staff is good about adjusting things they discover as "not working as intended."

Now I'm with you in that I don't routinely make it a point to fight mobs, let alone progging mobs, that have 10+ levels on me, and so fighting a human conjie on their terms often strikes me as a deathwish. Duergars vs angels, arials versus a demon's chain lightning
--you get the picture. That is just a whole boat load of ugly even if there weren't the mob level advantage.

The challenge is then to fight conjurers on YOUR terms, when they don't have their pets bound to them. I'd recommend finding yourself a spy or three to try to help you catch them unprepared. The problem for we mere mortals is that over a decade of playing AND watching other competent players in action has given the Immortal staff a larger toolkit for dealing with really tough to beat powerhouses if they themselves aren't playing said conjurer.

In the end, remember that CF is a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors.

Club them in the head with a rock and steal their pies,
Log and post everything so people can tell you what you did wrong,
and when all else fails, pay other people to stab them in the back.

Mark of prey, learn where they like to conjie, wait there, ambush them.

Get your own conjie to scry them out.

Find out where they wands come from.

Make them chase you through places servitors don't like. e.g. Just below the surface of the Aryth, so that you can flee up if dispelled.

Gank them.

Have an allied conjie dismiss their servitors and their nightwalker.

Have an allied conjie bring an angel.

Bring a bard. Bard's can mess with conjie pets, because conjie pets can't use most sources of resist mental.

Get an ap to slap a power word despondence on them.

Use spores or thornheart and hit and run healing fully in between.

Sure, they won't work every time, but they will put the conjie at risk.
