39230, osx client (JMC like)
Posted by xrus on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Dear CFers,

I just switched to osx and found out that I can't find any good and free tintin like graphic mud client for mac. If there is, can anyone help me find it? if not does anyone have any programming experience on osx cocoa development? I'll try to write a new client like jmc (tintin compatible and graphical) and could use some help for sure, if you would like to participate. Also I'm considering Qt as a replacement for Xcode, so it might be usable on any other platform too.
39454, 2 suggestions.

I may suggest GG Mud, or Mudwalker, neither are great but better than most the ones out there.

Only way I've heard of to get a current Mac to run it.

Blame Steve jobs!

I use Tintin++ in the terminal. Other than being terminal-based, I -think- the commands are similar to JMC.

I don't think there are any decent graphical OSX clients around that are still be actively maintained. I haven't looked in a long time, though.

tintin++ is good, but console applications have the input editing problems. tintin++ like graphical application should be best. I might be able to add some more funny things to it too.

Not sure it even exists - I used it with a mac maybe 12 years ago.

Rapscallion is not maintained anymore. command line modifying of world properties (like triggers and aliases) is really cool too, which is in tintin++ and JMC. I guess I'll make one like them, but based on cocoa, or Qt.
