I actually did originally conceive of it as a quest skill I might someday hand out.

Once you buy into the idea that most adventurers portage a boat of some kind with them everywhere they go, hitting someone with that boat almost seems logical.

Almost.

(As an aside, I really should give the armored war barge the ability to fire ballistae at or ram neighboring vessels...)

My reply was somewhat tongue in cheek. But, that said, the idea of modifying boats to impact waterborne combat has appealed to me for some time. You never know!

Then I can finally make that full on pirate role I've been thinking about...

canoewh barbarian
You whack a barbarian upside the head with an armored war barge!
Your canoewhack does UNSPEAKABLE things to a barbarian!
A barbarian is DEAD!!

Canoewhack is basically when you smack someone (generally a heroimm) with a very large water going vessel. Bigger the better.

Usually results in an Unspeak that kills the poor little heroimm.

You too can get canoewhack- beginning at level 53.

Role + One day all the fish in his area were killed by mages.
Role + Now he and his fishing boat, Tuggah, go around killing them.
Role + He forsakes all weapons, instead using only Tuggah as his weapon
