It seems a bit troubling to me that the thief class that's best suited for making a ton of money is the poisoner path of the thief guild.
Maybe I've got my ideas mixed up, but I've always thought that the pickpocket path should be the best way to make gold in the game.
Any chance on showing some love to the pickpocket skills? As of right now, the only way to make a ton of money off your class skills is by robbing other rich PCs and fencing equipment that you steal from them.
Any chance on lowering the timer on fence? I mean lowering it WAY down? I always thought fence was a great skill, but the timer for it was way too long. Furthermore, not only is their a reward for fencing a really pricey item, but it puts the item back into circulation as well.
Just some thoughts for the pickpocket class.

Like buying some real estate in CF for a character, or being able to donate to your cabal for added rooms/items/mobs which didn't necessarily change the power dynamic, but added small fun things.

Seems like these thieves are just abusing game mechanics with certain gold spots. Not sure if Charlie started it or just perfected it but seems like since him it's gotten out of hand. These characters have insane amounts of gold and it unbalances things, and they then hook up their buddies with said gold making it even worse. How about something like you can't farm gold spots anymore. Chests with gold can only be used once an hour or something or can only use it a certain amount of times in a given day.

I also don't think I've "farmed" anything in CF ever, to be honest.

Just curious. I wouldn't know since I've never had more than like 60 at a time. Tons of gold would just let me buy more of the useless crap in shops to see what it does.
I admit there are some awesome buyable preps, but there is a limit to how useful buying hundreds of them is. Weight, carry capacity, etc.

Well it stopped an entire cabal from attacking them, can buy almost any item in the game if you offer enough gold to someone, can gamble for nice things, can put massive bounties on someones head, etc. Influence things like head of thieves guilds(Granted with the right build and knowledge other thieves can compete in that arms race, but not everyone does), influence Empire by giving gold to people to assure elite spots etc. Just have to think outside of the box but it can be a very powerful tool.

I was limiting my scope to mechanical advantages. That all just sounds like thiefy RP, but I can see how overly easy ways to collect gold that are accessible by any class can ruin that. A thief being able to do it, I have no trouble with.

In galadon you can guy protection potions. Those are very important to nearly every single imperial and scion member as most cannot cast/commune it. Yes, protection potions are easy enough to farm by finding them in various spots throughout the MUD, but being able to walk up to the potion guy and buy 10 at a time without putting yourself in a lot of danger is a great thing. And protection is just an example. There are tons of preps that are almost nescessary in this era of CF that can either be found via a lot of time farming or just simply walking into a various store and buying them. Stoneskin is a relatively inexpensive prep to buy, but it all adds up over time.

To get through the whole path for a skill that lame is rather disheartening.
Maybe another suggestion if you keep the timer as is, allow a bulk fence with multiple items. One shot to sell everything you have, but it can only be done once every 66 hours.
If you'd like to show some pickpocket love, maybe a skill called "heist" for the path? Long timer, but you can rob the bank. Failure results in being kicked out of town and inability to use their shops for awhile.
Oh, and for original poster, have you tried coin filch? I got some decent mileage out of that edge.
