Finding new posts when you are at 3 different locations in a day can get annoying

IIRC, this only shows you new threads, though, not new posts

38710, Here is what you have to do:

Click read new. It shows threads with new posts. Click the thread. Read the message with a yellow page next to them.
AFter you are done, you have to go to the main page and click "mark" it seems. To mark those as read.
