38181, Non-traditional Village Classes (Paging Dr. Thror)
Posted by Homard on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Late last year there was a Dwarf Paladin (Cardum) who had his heart
set on joining The Village. If I am not mistaken he was told by
Thror, in no uncertain terms, that it was never to be.

But, in the past there have been (count them on one hand) Paladins
and Anti-Paladins in The Village.

Are those days over?

Or, if could a sufficiently motivated RPer with deep-seated
masochistic tendencies get one of these classes in?

This may not be entirely accurate so I apologize if it isn't. It is my take on it however.

It is hard-coded that certain classes cannot be flagged: BATTLE. It may not have been this way in the past but it is now this way.

It is also important to note that we do not have the number of *higher* level imms that can make significant PFile modifications.

I wouldn't say those days are over. I would say you *must* to have an incredible role and be willing to stand by it in every aspect of the character's life to convince me (and those limited resources) that the character is work changing a pfile over.

Hope that helps!
38198, So it's not 'impossible,' but simply 'nigh impossible?'

Challenge accepted.

But seriously, it seemed to me that Cardum had done pretty much
everything a paladin could do to get into The Village and still
fell short. Granted, I don't have the whole story, so there
must have been unseen stuff that counted against him.

Well, I have one or two masochistic roles to try out before I take
on anything this extreme. Thanks for the info.
38200, I agree having fought him... Follow up for Thror...

Did you try to get him fully inducted into Battle? Did you run it up the chain of command, as it were?

I think there has to be a *very* strong argument for incredible RP. I'll be the first to admit that there was good RP from this character but not *amazing*.

...and yes, I did run it up the chain. I wouldn't make the argument that it was the best RP I've ever seen. Best meatshield I've ever seen but I digress!
38263, You would have a better chance of Zorsaul returning and helping your healer incubate nt
