37188, Histort of Theran Minotaur
Posted by Qurdind on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I've trying to find the story line behind the creation of minotaur in CF. Was Rhegma involved? I think most people I've asked agree that was a ceremonial rape of some sort or another. I've looked through the lyceum and haven't found anything. Any help, por favor?

Try looking around the swamps near Seantryn.

It was the seventeenth day of the month of the Long Shadows and I, Verlani Del'hesitai, sworn defender of the Empress of Seantryn Modan set out to bind by magical means the perfect bodyguard to protect our beloved Empress.
The task intrigued me as such had never been undertaken by an apprentice such as myself. These tasks often left to the grand wizards who spend their days in study of magics lost to most. The wizards who give counsel to her majesty, but in their bickering I have come across the writings of the madman who once thought to join humans and bulls together. A messy lot that, the madman thought simply removing the head of the bull and placing it on the decapitated human body would produce the super race he sought. Yet in all his fumblings it wasn't to be, and at best his research produced horribly disfigured corpses fit for mockery if nothing else.
My hands clutched his life's work and I thought where he failed perhaps I would succeed and what he thought to be perfect in surgery I would bind with magic. A new creature, a new beginning, a perfect specimen to guard the Empress at all costs. Strength unmatched by any other. A head taller than most humans with loyal obedience and an even temper perfect in every way. I'll admit here in these volumes that my haste to merge the two would eventually be my downfall.
Though the beginning was simple. An ancient ritual passed down from the priests who once called Seantryn Modan their home. It all starts with the formation of the altar. The priests were specific in their directives on the creation of such an altar. It must be constructed of a certain type of wood... (The writing trails off under a blanket of grime.)
