37158, Trapper and Poison Path

My question is this... If a thief has enough points to gain full traps and poisons, can the thief put contact poison on the trap ingredients and when the trap is sprung, it then hits with the trap AND poison?

Theres at least one, if not two, extremely successful trappers right now. One cause hes a poisoner as well with rc rewards, one I think is full trapper but might not be?
It doesnt suck as bad as it did. Its no easy thing to do either, and still needs a lot of work.
