Summon (a class skill) and Centurians (a cabal power) synergized so well that it was fixed.

Do people think there is the same killer synergy between gate and beastcall?

I think it's worth noting that there are 3 classes that could utilize summon + centurions before it was changed. A quick PBF search shows a total of 52 characters, plus dozens not published. The majority of these being pretty common classes that don't require, for example, empowerment.

There is only one build that can exploit gate + beast call, and another PBF search brings up 10 such characters in 5+ years. Of them, I bet 50% of less were very aggressive. Given how uncommon it is to have to face that tactic, I just don't worry about it much.

Plus, it's not a "win" button. Unless the healer downright gets the drop on you or lands certain other supplications / powers, there's still plenty of hope.

One class can have beastcall AND gate. You have bigger things to worry about from outlander healers than that. You have more to worry about from healers in other cabals than you do outlander healers.

Okay that last part isn't true, but it takes someone really really competent, and I've generally seen more of them coming out of empire and scion.
