36568, Druid! Druid!

Been working a role up in my head for one. Was wondering what your favorite druid race was. Most popular seem to be wood-elf, human or cloud and why? Also Druid forms, they burn up super cool herbs? Worth using or situational? Of course they arnt no shapeshifter. That looks like some bad grammar, oh well.

With the sixth herbset, humans are going to outblast halfies. I think the halfies got screwed in that department. Before that, halfies would win out 8 times out of 10 for my top choice. That 24 wis = much more HP. My nexus druid was far more deadly than my outlander druid cause it had more HP and that awesome vanguard power. But that's how I'd split it, human or halfie is my favorite.

Moonblessed edge is a definite first or second pick. Then you need to pick you a deny edge. If you are going Nexus, I found forestwalker to be very useful and initiate of the desert was nice cause then you had a place to chill in the cabal that was wilderness.

I'm not sure 6 herb sets is really all its cracked up to be unless you really enjoy shapeshifting. If you get 6 herbs you can almost guarantee two of them are going to be utility. I mean, its probably pretty good, just not totally game breaking as you make it out to be.

In terms of druid sickness I'd rate them human (for PK range), half-elf then wood-elf. The 6 herb sets is just a nice bonus, the real reason humans kick ass is PK range.
36627, I've read that 6 is breath taking.

With 6 herbs Lightning bolt is said to be able one shot full health unprepped arials.

I'm not even sure there is 6 offensive herb areas - off the top of my head discounting places you can't easily get out of (like area explores), there's only 5. Assuming your chance of getting utility is (conservatively), 33%, you're talking 8 out of 100 attempts to get if there was 6 areas.

Just saying, don't listen to everything you read.
36630, there are at least 6 of all herbs.

Without sounding crass, accept the fact that I know more about druids than you do. I can think of 9 offensive herbs. 9 of everything except natural which I can think of 8, and without checking my notes, I think there are six places that have ONLY utility. I could get six offensive herbs before 3 ticks passed pretty fricken regularly with Mergen (who had the edge) but also because I knew when to try for six and when not to. Even then I could get 4 offensive herbs 90% of when I wanted them and five at least half the time with a sixth to blow on utility (which ISN'T a bad herbset to have. It boosts your regen rates which is handy). The perk of the edge ISN'T when you get six offensive herbs, it's because it boosts when you get 4 and 5 offensive herbs. The sixth is just a wow moment cause suddenly your fireseeds are more powerful than your sunray. (Edited to add) Six curative herbs with the herbal regen edge >= six offensive herbs.

All that said, I have a VERY extensive noteset on druids and I'm more than happy to share it with anyone that asks. But I LOVED my first "real" druid because it wasn't something I had done before and I figured 95% of it out on my own. The ONLY things I learned from other people were what the pangolin and tuara did and what the damn pixie did (though to this day I have only seen it once). But I warn you, if you ask for my notes, it will probably kill half the fun of the druid class. The mystery will go away.

So yeah, don't believe everything you read. But as for the best races for druids, it's human, cloud, halfie hands down at a preference tie. Gnome would be next, arial last. You could argue gnome above halfie, except that gnomes have a racial vuln you can't cover (easily) and resist metal will at least partially cover a halfie's metal vuln. Wood elves I can't attest to. Supposedly they have special ooomph to druid supps, but my small woodie experience was ended with the pfile wipe so I didn't get to finish experimenting with it. I might do it since I can't find anything else I want to do.

36636, I am intrested!

I had a nastier post made since you're a jerk in your post but I'll just take this moment to point out that 4 != 6 so lose the attitude. You're not even disputing what I'm saying, just being a prick for no reason.
36652, In the spirit of your post

I had several really nasty posts I was quite sad to delete. But I shall point out the fact that I was merely arguing with you stating that you could't remember six offensive locations and I could remember nine (none of which are area explore, there are no herbs in area explore). Also I would like to point out that the perk of the edge ISN'T six of anything, but is increased 4 and 5.

I would like to applaud your observation that I am a jerk against my best attempt to appear as not. Clearly I suck at that. Yes, I am an asshole. Yes, I am a jerk. My girlfriend will tell you the same. ALL of my friends will. ####, a chick I took on a date last night said the same god damned thing. So I guess I'm an asshole. Damn.

Jerkyness, while a quite apt and delicious metric for dried meat, doesn't really account for good argument retaliation especially when the facts being disputed are printed in sequence. I think the people that read this are quite able to see the purpose of my post and how it refutes your comment.

Following that... I appreciate the spirit of your post in telling the person that the best way to appreciate the druid class is to do it your ####ing self, that wasn't the gist of my post (that was the thesis of the second part though, so I can't fault you). I do hope you can funnel this type of aggression into a more proper channel (ie, IC ) and that we can get on to something much more beneficial to us.

I for one appreciate your time. I spent a whole 30 minutes on this (plus the truly vociferous versions I deleted) so I can only assume that one even fractionally self-absorbed as I am will have spent... maybe something the same? And as such I am pleased. ####, I'd be tickled if this wasted more than two minutes of your time in return.

In America, the word jerk isn't a a pejorative. Being stupid is. You can't beat someone like me so don't try. Tip your glass cheers and let's just get ####ing drunk. That's my advice. It's how we deal with it here. In the end we all have to live with one another.

Kinda does make you an asshole.

I jive with the rest of the post though ;)

Race... depends what you're trying to do. My favorite is human. You get no xp pen, (better pk range) no vulns, and you can take an edge that lets you grab 6 herbs. Wood-elves get bonuses to sups but the iron vuln and the (slightly) lower hp along with the xp penalty generally makes me pass on woodies for druids. (unless it fits role) Clouds are beastly at hero, but the mental/divine vulns and xp pen are going to make you want to cry.

Shifting... you're not a shifter. Utility herbs were changed not long ago to boost druid forms. I'd say situational but worth using. Generally this is what you do when you're raiding. It's better than fire seeds and you can still heal yourself in form. Obviously edges make everything better.

Speaking of edges the first one you want to take is moonblessed. After that you're on your own.
