35599, Is this normal?

Physical effect: 'plague' modifies strength by -15 for 110 hours.
From the games help files: "Ticks on this mud average 30 seconds of real time"
So I was looking at approx. 1 real life hour of sitting around if I hadn't been finished off.
I can see the Strength loss but the timer seems wacked. If he was a real prick He could have spammed that for days and basically stranded me in place until I died from 1 hp loss per tick.
Is there anyway an applicant can avoid this? I don't know of anyway to save vs plague.

35608, Helpful alternative, suicide

I sat in a death trap once for a very long time because I did not know about this, but if you are stranded like that you can always type "suicide."
Maybe not the best of options, but it is certainly better than sitting in one spot for an hour+ doing nothing.
PS: Who would have thought "helpful alternative" and "suicide" would ever be in the same sentence?

As far as I know spells/skills like Plague and Poison have a constitution check with the saving throw. So, the best defense is saves vs spell and having high con.
Healers can easily cure you, however I guess you mean that you're a village applicant and that rules that option out.. As well as carrying cure disease potions/pills.
In general, being a village applicant is supposed to be pretty rough. You get a nice big target painted on your back for awhile, and if you've got no allies around you're really going to have it rough. That is, until you get inducted and can use the healer in the village and reliably call for help via your cabal channel (cb).
The best thing about playing villagers is that it gets you used to dying. Sometimes, there's just no way out except to eat the death and keep on trucking.

topic deleted. It occures to me it's probably only something rager applican't have a problem with so it's easily countered otherwise.

35602, FWIW...

This kind of thing is only really so vicious on a village applicant, and believe it or not is quite well balanced. Tough it out and reap the rewards, trust me it'll get better.
And if it makes you feel any better, the odds of you killing someone once you've got a -15 strength plague on you are pretty slim, even without knowing your race/class/level.
