Whirlwind worth taking on a non-arial? Wondering how significant it is that arials are specifically mentioned in the help file.

Sure: the main key to Whirlwind is your current dex vs. their current dex.

Didn't you indicate at some point that non-dex things like haste/meta-quick/etc. also play into whirlwind (beyond just the +dex on the person who's hasted)? Or did I imagine that?
34934, He did, and that's the post where he said he..

He could get 11 attacks out of an arial. I can't locate it though. I have looked.

Yes; however, what I said above is still correct and probably should still form the basis of whether or not you think whirlwind might be a good idea for a character.

Yeah, went back and looked up your posts on the subject. There were a lot. Apparently people have historically been pretty confused about Whirlwind.

Way back when, you said haste provides approximately the same benefit as "a couple" points of dexterity.

Here's another question: does Fires of Adversity juice damage output (# of hits, likelihood of hits landing, damage caused by each hit, etc.) when a character is wounded, or does it only juice melee defense?

I believe Fires boosts both defence and offence when you are low on health.
34943, It does not fire offense. n/t

There's disagreement. That's why I asked. Hopefully someone will clear it up.

Edit: Nevermind. Search is overpowered. Nepenthe already described how it works in sufficient detail.

This has been hashed and rehashed over and over.

It acts to increase parry and dodge, that is all, not damage or evasion.
