The following post is based on the assumption that succesfully placed traps have an expiration timer on them. If they don't disreguard.
Ideally, Ikd like to have it so traps never expired, but perhaps put a limit on how many you can have in a room. But absent that, here's some other ideas.
First: Three Edges 1) Perisitant Trapper: Traps last considerably longer. Say another 24 hours.
2) Trap Checker: The trapper through practice and experience knows when a trap that has been set expires. (You reckon it's time to check your traps.)
2) Keen ear: The trapper can hear when a trap has sprung.
How's that for hitting trappers with the fun stick?

1) Won't happen since you can stack traps. Given the choice I'd rather have stacked traps than longer lasting ones.
2) Just put the clock on your prompt.
3) Something like this already exists.
