Why not make the arena 3x3 rooms instead of 2x2? I think it would make the fights far more interesting.

And why not let the arena fights show up in the PBF? Might make people try a bit harder in the arena. I for one would be interested in seing how many wins/losses I accumulated over a chars life.

IMHO no, if you want a PK history you need to actually PK people. Arena fights aren't real fights. And it's a little ridiculous to see a bunch of decked out Heralds fighting each other in the arena. Since when did Herald become such total gear whores?

I've never been in the rites, so I don't know what that is like, but I would have loved for the arena to be maybe a a five by five not pure grid area with some different terrains, some indoor/outdoor. Not below water or flying, cause that would be somewhat abusable.

Maybe with some civilized, wilderness areas mixed in, which rangers might appreciate (granted terrain otherwise does not make so much of a difference). The small area makes fleeing a bit tougher, because you can only go so far, where as a big room, you might be able to run, heal up, and come back. Fights would of course take longer, but I think it would better simulate a true pk enviroment which is fun for some of us who like PK, but can probably use a little work on it.

Of course, I understand the counter is that if we want real PK enviroments, PK instead of going to the arena.

Statistics would be fun, but not really relevant in my eyes and probably not worth it, since I could fight a level 10 guy with my hero in the arena.

I really like the idea of putting arena stats in the PBF, in a separate spot than regular PKs of course.

It might also be cool to include it in game. I don't see why the proprietors of the arena wouldn't post a list of their champions outside. It might appeal to those who have a competitive nature without having to worry about multi-killing, etc. just to pad numbers.

I've never had a huge problem with the size of the arena, but I think the very confined space does give a small edge to certain classes.
