Change the name of vortex to maelstrom.
New spell after improved invis is vortex. This allows an invoker to create a strong vortex of air to draw an enemy from a specified direction into the room with the invoker. Can be used indoors and outdoors. Can be pumped up with additional mana to allow pcs/npcs to be drawn from several rooms away or to reduce the likelihood of a character saving against it.
Footing edge helps reduce the chance of being drawn to invoker.
Invoker edges can turn the vortex of air cold or hot, doing appropriate damage. Initial spell doesn't do damage but will wake up slept people.

Definitely a class that doesn't need a spell like this. Invokers are already hard to kill and already can dish out more damage per second than any other class. They don't need a summon type spell that they can use from the safety of their quicksand pit or their inner guardians. They don't need a spell that they can use to suck out the defenders one at a time into the waiting hands of the hungry gank squad. Ugg. You say summon can already do this? Not in the village.
