But don't giants sized characters get a slight damage bonus when wielding two handed weapons in both hands?

No, but the fact that those races tend to have higher strength may make it look that way.

I thought you said once there was a parry bonus when using 2h weapons, irrespective of weapon type. I think it might have been in the context of paladins.
