Wouldn't this be easy to nip in the bud? Just have it such that _only_ the cabal item of the PC landing the killing blow returns.

I was there for the raid in question, though I was hiding and stalking the whole time. It wasn't nearly as coordinated as the log makes it look, nor was it a regular thing.

The ranking of how often I fought the members of a given cabal in Meyvian's life goes like this: 1. Outlander 2. Battle 3. Empire

It was cooperative. I had hex augur and they were curing my maladictions on each other before hitting me at the inner again. Plus I ran out once to jump them since I knew they wouldn't be expecting it, and they were actually talking out loud about what to do.

A: This isn't as big an issue as that log makes it appear.
B: Your idea wouldn't work, because if you were really dealing with the "huge odds" such as in that log, the people coming for their items would still just hit the inners, returning all cabal items. And that won't ever go away.
C: Any char who repeatedly went/goes against their cabal's policies would/will be outducted in a reasonable amount of time.

You will pooped them.
30715, Kind of like how anti perma rules have been enforced the last few years?
Posted by quas on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Shrug, I mean yeah there needs to be leeway but you can't say it will get dealt with if it is a habbit because either nobody will agree on what a habbit is or like the perma rules the imms will just ignore them for several years. I mean sure there were a lot of false perma accusations, but there were an assload of correct ones.

That log that happened on Dio's would happen three times in a row instead of just once.

So no, that would exacerbate the issue, not solve it.

Yeah, that's the point. You need to re-raid thrice, that slows the whole process down, makes it less of a quick payoff bandwagon and likely the one cabal you got their item back would not reraid (no point) would would further stop the bandwagon as well...
30708, I don't buy that.

Maybe if Daurwyn were the cabal leader or something at the time of one of the three cabals the raiders belong to that might be the case.

You're betting that the average run of the mill cabal leader would stop reraiding.

I'm betting that if there are any defenders that are suicidal enough to stick around, the huge war machine will reraid again as many times as necessary to pull them out of the cabal and kill them.

There will be times where both happen but I'm going to bet on and prepare for the latter in such a case. Sportsmanship and ethics tend to go out the window when a giant raiding group is puttering around an area or two outside a cabal. Particularly if they aren't the type of group to do a full frontal assault even when they are fully capable of doing so even against greater numbers regardless of their actual roles and membership.

30713, My experience agrees
Posted by Daurwyn2 on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Because I faced a raid worse than that on my own, as Nererial. 6 people, mix of fort, battle, outlander. I didn't have their items. They raided me at the inner together. I forced them off in a crazy fight.

Then seven came and because one of my preps rotted me (figured I needed all I could draw on to face seven), I didn't defend.

That was purely an alliance in order to pk me or take the codex, when they could not do it without allying. No more, no less.

Well, I'm also betting that no suicidal defenders will stick around but see your point.
