30393, Bard in Battle

Are there any special requirements to get inducted? I was told there are some more than just become an applicant, get recommendations etc, something like write your own song or so

None really that I saw. Salenya got in with two recs and two mage kills, knew lots of others but had not bothered getting more formal recs. Lended a hand for raids/retrievals, and was talking with Borkhad when a nexan bashed me, and was inducted then.

As I understand it, their are some songs they aren't allowed to sing.

30410, The main reason I'd keep them out

Is because they affect all the other ragers, and generally the other ragers are balanced without bards.
Battle bard is very tough, but it's the difference they make to the rest of the village.
For example: - village, balanced by not being allowed to use healers, suddenly have effectively unlimited healing. - village, balanced by being given resist and spellbane, suddenly get double-resist and improved spellbane.
Obviously if the village is much the underdog, then I think throwing in a bard to balance it can work, but generally speaking I think it skews the balance a bit much.
That said, I would give villagers some kind of weaker resistance to the songs of enemy bards. Like a half-strength resist mental.

This hasn't been the case for many years.
