29945, Still can't connect, even on 4449

Keep getting an immediate reconnection in Zmud, no skull, no nothing. Even tried using the IP address instead of carrionfields.net

Hmm, must be a sign. :)
29948, RESOLVED Make sure you connect with the IP 208.43.220.232 . Not all the DNS servers have been corrected.

29954, It's probably my setup

But I still can't connect. I can ping (~65ms), I have the IP address, correct port number, etc.. but it just keeps reconnecting without ever giving me a skull.

This is the same setup (Zmud) that I used to use on the old site without any problem. Tried messing around with the Windows firewall settings but nothing changed.

Ah well, probably a sign though it is a drag to miss out on the double xp. :)
29957, Ping.

Ping just checks to see if a box is up - it has nothing to do with port accessibility or firewall issues.

There are port scanners you can download to see if you're encountering an error along the way (firewall, isp). I'm not too familiar with those however. But just because you can ping a box does not mean you can access it.

You might try loading windows up in safe mode and connecting through telnet (open telnet from the command promtp and use the command 'open carrionfields.net 4449') from there. If you can connect, that means your local machine's firewall is blocking it.
29959, Nope, not the firewall

Went in and disabled the firewall completely in Windows and because this is an old box with nothing important on it I've already removed all the AV/Firewall software from Norton as well.

It's just curious because I ran the exact same setup with the old address/port just fine for years. Now though, it looks like it connects for a millisecond and then tries to reconnect.

Maybe my IP just happens to be in a block that's been banned for some reason by the current set up though I don't know how I'd figure that out. Either that or my ISP blocks this port as well.

I can't connect via port 4449, or 4444 or 9999.
