29738, Felar and their 'feral growl'
Posted by FelarWarrior on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
As a felar warrior you dont get access to an offhand weapon, it's your claws. So, you miss out on the hit and dam roll of an offhand weapon. But, I was told that feral growl makes up for that just a little bit as their inherent.
What I wonder is, even with a bless from a healer/paladin/Inner you cannot do this inherent ability of feral growl anymore. That is the same when you warcry instead of get a bless from one of the three above.
Is this on purpose? I mean feral growl is to help a felar warrior get the added hit/dam roll they miss from a weapon. They can do this if they only feral growl, and not get a bless. But, with a bless, which is always stronger in my case, I'm just the same as every other warrior and without my inherant 'feral growl'
You see what I'm saying? It's a felars inherent, so why not make it so that it stacks upon bless, warcry or both. I mean there are edges for the growl that add with warcry to have better saves, and magical scars, but if I cannot do my inherant 'feral growl when I have a bless on me from an inner, then do I just lose out on that hit/dam roll of the feral growl to make up for the fact i have no offhand weapon?
I think I've confused myself, but do you see what I'm saying?

Ok, will do. My warcry isn't that much different than the bless right now.
But, I dont know if I remember right, but I can feral growl while i have a warcry, right?

29764, Just take the edge and you will see what it does. It is cool, IMO nt

Eh, I'd say it's more your balancing factor is that you can use a two-handed weapon and still dual wield. Felar have been unable to dual wield for MUCH longer than they've had FG.

Yes.

Could there be some thought given to making two-handed swords hit a porcupine when used as a two-handed weapon (both hands used for it)
I don't think it would be unbalancing (maybe I'm wrong?) but do think it fits with the whole concept.
Thanks for any consideration.

It's already partially like this.

29739, I've never heard that justification before

about the "making up for not getting +dam and +hit from an offhand weapon", that is.
Felar claws are high damage, and tend to land a lot as it is. Plus felar gear enables you to get nice damage as it is too. I always thought it was more a perk of the felar race that you got feral growl instead of warcry.

I just am not for sure. I mean the feral growl isn't great, but it's useful, and it's a felar's own inherent.
I just wonder why I cannot inh 'feral growl' while I have a bless?
I wonder why I cannot warcry when I have a bless on because it takes away the bless, and replaces it with the warcry.
My character isn't hero range yet, but warcry is not as good as an inner's bless, and dont know if it will be once I hit hero range.
It's just a small bonus, but it makes felar different from other warriors, but when I get the bless, I cannot use my inherent, and then I'm just like other warriors. I just wish it stacked for that little bit of hit/dam and saves vs paralysis, because then I could try for the felar inherent edges, which seem pretty nice.

29744, Inners bless is always better unless you have a certain legacy or imms boosts your warcry. n/t

There will be plenty of times when you won't have an inner's bless.
And even at hero, and even after doing a certain quest the inner's blessings are a bit stronger iirc.

Warcry, generally, is never as good as a cabal healer's bless.
Of course, if you're at your cabal so much you can rely on the bless, you're probably Battle and should spend less time patrolling the Eastern Road. :P
