29609, Why did this happen?
Posted by Confused player on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Been playing plenty every other day at least(including earlier today) and out of the blue...
wilderness <100%hp 100%m 78%mv 7760tnl (3.00%)> A silver chain flail crumbles into dust. A flame blade crumbles into dust. A potion of invisibility has evaporated from disuse. A potion of return has evaporated from disuse. A shimmering blue potion has evaporated from disuse. An oil of sight has evaporated from disuse. A shimmering blue potion has evaporated from disuse. A metal canteen insulated in a wolves pelt crumbles into dust. A black iron broadsword crumbles into dust. A makeshift wooden trunk crumbles into dust. A silver-shod mallet marked with an angel crumbles into dust. An iron two-handed sword crumbles into dust. A chain flail crumbles into dust.
Prayed but got not response. Why did this happen?

29611, Did you drop all your gear somewhere?
Posted by Forsakenz on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
There are a few places where dropping items/gear causes them to crumble. Several shrines used to do this as well.

29614, That must be it.

Dropped them all within the Aryth for about a minute while I walked by a thief to see if they would blackjack me. I didn't want them to empty my inventory.
I love irony.

Anytime you drop something underwater it will crumble later.
You can thank cheaters. Run to Aryth. Find a secluded spot. Tell friend 'It's 2e4s2w3s2d from Hamsah'. Remove all. Drop all.

29620, This isn't totally true, I don't think

I've dropped a number of things underwater and expected them to crumble, and they never did (in over 50 real hours).
I think some places might be exceptions to this, or maybe that you can drop stuff as long as you don't leave it there too long. Something like that, anyway.
