28867, Legacy question for Daevryn
Posted by Torak on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Always wondered what use you would find for the Outcry legacy. If it just gives the 200 movement and nested dashing, what would necessarily be the need? Guessing where your opponent is going to be beyond 2 rooms seems pretty rough - not to mention the client macro/alias skills to pull it off well. If it's more than just that (like improved fleeing or faster movement speed) I could understand it maybe....

Just curious - the sword thread made me think of this and given I think I've seen this legacy taken twice by other players, just looking for input.

Because nested dashes are going to help a lot when it comes to escaping being pinned in the village.

Outcry also gives much faster movement regeneration, and helps protect a character with it against attacks that strike at their feet or try to limit their mobility.

Probably I'd be most likely to take it on something like a non-flying Battle warrior because of the above, + having to walk everywhere, + for whatever reason I seem to see actual good uses for nested dashing more often for Battle, especially in cabal raid defenses.

I kind of lump it in with things like Place or One with Shadows that are fairly specific defensive legacies, really really good in their niche but often without broader applications, though probably Outcry is more broad than either of those.
28881, Does anything get affected by dashing directly?

For example, does dashing and "pulling" better than just pulling by itself?

I always wondered if someone with nested dashes would have an insane "charge"....you get the idea.

And ya, I guess my problem is it being so broad that it's application is not merited for a legacy choice. I always see it rewarded over someone actually picking it....or the person regretting choosing it in the first place.

Just 2 cents.

On multiple characters... I would never, ever, ever describe it as being "really really good in their niche"

This legacy has disappointed me in a big way. The best use I ever got out of it was that it went off roughly 2/5 of the time.

After I got assassinated twice having this legacy, I decided I would never take it again until it became better in some way or another.

Is this still viable considering that dash doesn't work 100% of the time anymore?

I had this legacy with my minotar mace/pole zerker a long time ago and really liked it. It's great for catching people when you are thirsting, and in combination with cutoff you can make really cool things happen. And it's just really nice that you don't have to sleep for moves when hunting (since heal refresh isn't an option anymore).

In general I agree that non-flying zerker is the best choice for the legacy, and pole spec probably optimizes it even more.
