28561, Quests.

Don't force quests on me, please.

Kill quests in particular.

I hate running into some mob that tells me kill this without a number to kill.

Java

Everyone else
--------------------The line representing people who are really happy with the automated quest tracking and continuous quest additions that Zulg and the Imms added and like to participate--------------

Seriously, can't you people just be happy without criticizing every little thing?

So just don't complete the quest?

It's not forced on you. You have a choice whether to do it or not.
28563, But what about us anal types that HATE to have failed quests on their list? nt

Really, Java, you failed to complete the quest whether you ever walked by the mob or not.

Muahahah.
28578, Good point haha.
Posted by wareagle on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Guess we'll live with it.

Worth a try!
28580, Now why'd you have to say that?
Posted by Java on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
You realize how much longer it'll take me to hero now?

I hate you.
28584, RE: Now why'd you have to say that?
Posted by Isildur on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
And just think of all the quests you're not completing because you don't even know they exist...
28586, Sounds like OCD
Posted by Quix_lz on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Do you obsessively master every skill and commune you take? Or worse, do you take every skill available to your character, and also strive to master them?

That just makes me want to make a felar hunter and drive myself nutty.
28587, Nah. Those don't bother me.
Posted by Java on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Hell, my last char was 200+ hours old, and never mastered word.

It's just those lists of "Failed" on the quest command that drive me nuts. Can't they say "chose not to complete" or "had better things to do" instead?
28588, RE: Nah. Those don't bother me.
Posted by Isildur on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Okay, I'm going to throw you a bone.

Yes. Your character is a failure at "wasting his time killing vermin".

Good on you.
28625, Guess it could be worse
Posted by Rodriguez on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
The quest givers could taunt you every time you enter the area for failing your given tasks...

There's a Santa Zulg '09 request in here somewhere...
28651, Having actually now completed one.
Posted by wareagle on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Foot in mouth.

Was actually fun/rewarding.

Would suggest upping the amount of coin.

But yeah, foot in mouth. My bad.

Disclaimer: If the other kill quests are similarly structured. I intend to find out next character.
28573, Agreed
Posted by Mmumma on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I truly HATE to have failed quests in my records. :)
28565, Am I asking for too much here?
Posted by wareagle on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Think about it.

Is anyone doing these kill quests?

I do all of those quests, some give you commerce exp, and some that you do on higher levels give you random skill advancements, I'd say they are a good thing.

And like Java said, some of us are anal enough to obsess over a failed quest in the quest log :)

I didn't think that is what Java was saying.

But I could be wrong.

And I'd be completely on board with you if I just had a number on those kill quests.

I'd kill 250 of xxx if I knew that would complete the quest.

I'm not sure that is something I should have to test out.

And I've given it a legitimate shot with one of the quests.

I just want a number, that's all oh and the option to accept or decline the quest.
28579, I do what this guy does
Posted by Guy on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
And if I don't think it'll help me? I blow it off it can go with the other 5 + failed quests that are usually on my lists.

And Camist, your quote rox.
28572, Yes, I do almost all of them
Posted by Daurwyn2 on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
With almost every character. Moreover, they are good for a newbie, since (a) a newbie doesn't know so well where to get better gear, and (b) they give the newbie the coins needed to survive, and (c) they are easy (if time consuming) to complete.
28574, When I do do them,
Posted by Pro on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I pick one that I see as synergetic to my role, do it and incorporate it into my characters story.

I really like those quests even though the end result isn't as cool as say the boots. But to me they are RP street cred and you do get fair coin for low level.

I will say this, would like to be able to finish a quest after passing the threshhold, even if it meant I didn't get any reward as a result.
