27654, feature to make zulg's life easier
Posted by Isildur on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Possible to automate PBF posting based on character destruction?

Basically allow someone to "pre-pay" for their character's PBF. Then, when that character dies/deletes it automagically gets posted along w/ the normal death_angel post on the Battlefield.

Or are PBFs something that must necessarily be done manually?

I could probably wire up something that would allow you to pay while a character is still alive and publish on death, however setting that bit on the character would still have to be done manually. Ultimately, we have to make sure that the payment through paypal clears, and that part is manual.

Screening roles and immortal comments for sensitive information is something that must be done manually.

This rarely (if ever) actually happens. Especially for Immortal comments.

If it was automated the way he suggested, you wouldn't be able to do that (before it went public) at all, if you wanted to (for any reason).

I think Z's point is that the things that we as IMM's put in as comments almost never need to be screened. Least not enough that it would impede any kind of autoondeathPBFposting.

I honestly can't remember having ever done it.

There are some things that aren't meant for public consumption (cheating, etc.) and those things ahead of time go someplace you won't see.
27655, I second this idea -NT-
